It was not our first time in Zamboanga. We were here a few years ago for a wedding but it has changed a lot since our last trip. Two years before Kevin and Lizzie’s day, the city went through one of its toughest challenges when it was sieged. After this event, we heard stories of weddings that were moved to Manila or photographers avoiding possible bookings here because of fear. But when Lizzie approached me to capture this celebration, we did not hesitate and immediately said yes. I knew that with their wedding, we can showcase images of love and happiness, a side of Zamboanga that people don’t always see.
Inspired by Kevin’s proposal in Paris, the look and mood of their wedding was just as romantic as getting engaged in front of the Eiffel tower. In fact, the tower is used dominantly in the details in ways not difficult to miss yet blending well with the other items.
It was a one of a kind experience traveling all the way here for their union. It’s by far the farthest that we’ve gone south of the Philippines and if we’ll have another invite here in the future, we won’t flinch and say yes. Enjoy the photos!
